2011 Bradford Beach Strongman

 sanctioned by North American Strongman (NAS)


On Sunday, June 26th, the sands of Bradford Beach will be home to the inaugural Bradford Beach Strongman, an exciting new event featuring many of the top heavyweight male competitors from across the Midwest.

 

Competitors will be waging for cash and prizes including $750 for 1st place; $600 for second place and $500 for third place.  The top three finishers qualify for the North American Strongman Championships representing Bradford Beach.

 

The Bradford Beach Strongman is a Platinum level event sanctioned by North American Strongman.  The event will feature five competitions displaying the power and technique of the heavyweight competitors.  The lifts to be showcased are:

 

    • Five Kegs (plus) tossed for over a minimum bar height of 14 feet. 
    • 300lb Husafell stone carried for max distance.
    • 275lb Log press for cleaned and pressed for maximum repetitions
    • 700lb Frame carry for a maximum of 150ft. 
    • Five Atlas stones deadlifted, cleaned and pressed on to a box.  Atlas stones weighing from 275lbs (start) to  380lbs (finish).

 

The event will take place on the sand between the beach house and beach hut as well as the cement patio section near the beach house concession stand windows.  The event will start at 11am and is free to the public.
