About Eric Mathews: Eric is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE-CPT). He has spent the last 5 years honing his coaching craft as a head coach in both men’s indoor volleyball and the sprints and hurdles side of men’s and women’s track and field. He is a top tier beach volleyball athlete in the region and has been working his way up the ranks in that sport since 2006. As a personal trainer, Eric specializes in youth and adult athletic development; speed, agility and quickness training; and lifestyle or holistic approaches to fitness. Eric brings with him a passion for not only fitness and well-being, but for the outdoors as well. He has over 5 years of experience leading or partaking in extended trips through the natural areas of Wisconsin and abroad. His dual passions for fitness/wellness and our local environment give Eric a unique approach to physical fitness – an approach that recognizes the importance of a holistic perspective and the value of training the entire individual, not simply the bones, muscles, joints and heart. As a major proponent of the on-going Bradford Beach revitalization, Eric is extremely excited to add “Fitness at the Beach” to the list of opportunities for Milwaukee area beach and fitness enthusiasts!

Joshua Van Schaick: Josh shatters the stereotype of the typical personal trainer, choosing to place an emphasis on the inner growth of the individual as well as the outer improvement exercise has on everyone. He is someone who is truly in the profession for the right reasons, to help people improve themselves through exercise. Not only does Josh have a superior knowledge of the body and its mechanics, but also knows the importance a trainer plays in the clients interior motivation and well being. The wide spectrum of clients Josh has helped is truly amazing; he specializes in youth training, athletic and power development, injury rehab, weight loss, and overall improving individuals mind and spirit through exercise. Josh is currently leading the training at the Bradford Beach, and is the subject of the 2007 documentary "Lift", by local Whitefish Bay filmmaker/artist David Robbins.
