2010 Tournament Rules for Bradford Beach, Milwaukee, WI

 TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
• Tournaments will be offered for the following divisions:
     - Men’s Open Doubles
     - Men’s A Doubles
     - Women’s Open Doubles
     - Women’s A Doubles
     - Co-ed Fours (two men, two women, co-ed rule)
     - Co-ed Sixes (three men, three women, co-ed rule)
     - Junior Boys Doubles
          • 12 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1997
          • 14 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1995
          • 16 and Under: Born on or after Sept. 1, 1993
          • 18 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1991  
          • 20 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1989
     - Junior Girls Doubles
          • 12 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1997
          • 14 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1995
          • 16 and Under: Born on or after Sept. 1, 1993
          • 18 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1991  
          • 20 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1989

•  All tournaments are held at Bradford Beach, 2400 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53211.
•  All tournaments will be sanctioned by AVPNext unless otherwise noted.
     - June 12th US Open of Beach Volleyball Junior qualifier does not require and AVPNext membership but does require a USA Volleyball Membership.
     - June 12th Big Daddy Open co-ed fours do not require either AVPNext or USA Volleyball membership.
     - June 19th US Open of Beach Volleyball Adult qualifier does not require and AVPNext membership but does require a USA Volleyball Membership.
• All AVPNext tournaments will be administered under the direction of G1, Inc.
•  All USA Volleyball tournaments will be administered under the direction of the Badger Region Volleyball Association.
•  All AVPNext and USA Volleyball doubles tournaments will be played under the rules of the AVP and USA Volleyball.
•  All AVPNext co-ed fours tournaments will be played under the rules of the AVP and USA Volleyball with the exception of the court size (big court) and co-ed rule (female must be one of three contacts).

Player Eligibility
• Junior division age brackets:
     - Junior Boys Doubles
          • 12 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1997
          • 14 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1995
          • 16 and Under: Born on or after Sept. 1, 1993
          • 18 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1991  
          • 20 and Under: Born on or after Sept 1, 1989
• All players must be current members of AVPNext where noted.
• All Players must be current members of USA Volleyball where noted.

Tournament Format
Open and U26 Doubles: Seeded double elimination with Olympic cross-over.
A level Doubles: Pool play with single elimination playoffs.
Junior level Doubles: Pool play with single elimination playoffs.
Co-ed level 4’s and 6’s: Pool play with single elimination playoffs.

Double elimination tournaments will be match play, best 2 of 3 games, rally scoring 21/21/15, no cap.
Pool play will be decided prior to individual event based on participation.  
Pool play playoffs will be match play, best 2 of 3 games, rally scoring 21/21/15, no cap.

Competition
• All registrations for individual event and memberships are to be completed online at bradfordbeachjam.com prior to event.  Entry fees or memberships will not be processed on-site.
     - Late fees will be assessed for any team registering after the registration close date.
• All players are expected to understand the tournament check-in time and match start times.  We will start without you if you are late.
• All courts to conform to official AVP beach court guidelines (court dimensions, net height, antennas, boundaries, AVP Wilson Game Ball, etc.) unless otherwise noted for alternate co-ed formats (large court, co-ed rule).
• All tournament matches will be assigned officials under the direction of the tournament director.  Players participating in the tournament will be responsible for officiating when called upon.  
     - Officials are to use whistles.
     - Officials are to keep score.
     - Officials are to report match results to the tournament director.
• All players earning prize money will be asked to fill out a W-9 form.
• Prize money and prizes will be announced prior to the start of each event.
     - Prize money will be distributed in the form of a check at the completion of each event.
     - Prizes will be distributed at the completion of each event.

Seeding and Results
• All tournaments will be seeded based upon the current AVP and AVPNext national point standings.  
• Any player without current points will be seeded based upon date of registration.
• Current points can be found at avpnext.com.
• All results will be posted at avpnext.com.

Inclement Weather Policy
• Tournaments will not be cancelled prior to an event.
• In the event of lightning, play will be halted until the clear announcement given by the tournament director.
• Tournament director deserves the right to decide in the best interest of the players and event if the event is to be completed in one day or two days due to any unforeseen delays or stoppages of play.

Tournament Director
• The tournament director will be named prior to each event for each division.
• The tournament director maintains all direction and final decision authority of their part of event.
• The tournament director will be positioned under the “RED” beach tents located in the center point of the volleyball courts at Bradford Beach.
• Players are expected to respect the decision and authority of the Tournament Director and assist if called upon.
• For 2010, the primary tournament directors will be:
